Various Uses of Get
'Get' is one of the most common verbs in English and it has various meanings.
English learners know that it is most challenging and interesting to learn all the various uses of 'Get'. Some important usages of 'Get' are given below:
'Get' अंग्रेजी की सबसे आम क्रिया है और इसके अनेक अर्थ है । इंग्लिश सीखने वाले जानते है की 'Get' के सभी विविध प्रयोग सीखना चुनौतीपूर्ण एवं रोचक है । 'Get' के कुछ महत्वपूर्ण प्रयोग नीचे दिये हुए हैं:
Meaning - Become
When we use 'get' before an adjective, it often means 'become'.
जब हम 'Get' को Adjective से पहले प्रयोग करते है, इसका अक्सर अर्थ होता है 'बनाना / बन जाना' ।

| वह बूढ़ी नही होना चाहती है । | She does not want to get old. |
| हमारे प्रमुख प्रबंधक गुस्सैल है । वह छोटी बातों पर गुस्से हो जाते है । | Our General Manager is short tempered. He gets angry on trifles. |
| आसानी से ध्यान भंग मत होने दो । | Don't get distracted so easily. |
| उसकी माताजी की स्थिति गंभीर हो रही है । | The condition of his mother is getting serious. |
| सरकारी नौकरी आजकल सख्त हो रही है । | Government service is getting tough now a days. |
| वह बेहतर हो रही है । | She is getting better. |
| अगर उसे 5 मिनिट तवज्जो ना मिले तो वह रुष्ट हो जाता है । | If he doesn't get attention for five minutes, he gets sulky. |
| मैं नही जानता हूँ की वह उससे कैसे मोहित हुआ । | I don't know how he got fascinated with her. |
| आओ इस सुव्यवस्थित कमरे को छिन्न भिन्न कर दें । | Let's get this tidy room shattered. |
Meaning - Some Kind of Movement
'Get' often means 'some kind of movement (Go, Come or Arrive)' when we use 'Get' before words - home, up, out, away, back, etc.
'Get' का अक्सर अर्थ होता है 'किसी प्रकार की हरकत (जाना, आना या पहुंचाना) जब हम 'Get' को इन शब्दों से पहले प्रयोग करते हैं - Home, up, out, away, back, etc ।

| मेरे लक्ष्य मुझसे दूर जा रहे हैं । | My goals are getting away from me. |
| बस में आओ । | Get in the bus. |
| उसे अहमदाबाद में ट्रेन से उतरना है । | He is to get off the train at Ahmedabad. |
| मैं जैसे ही घर पहुंचता हूँ, रात का खाना लेता हूँ । | I take dinner as soon as I get home. |
| वह फरवरी महीने में छुट्टीयों से वापस अपेक्षित है । | She is expected to get back from leave in the month of February. |
| अपना हिस्सा लो और मेरी दृष्टी से दूर हो जाओ । | Take your share and get away from my sight. |
| तुम्हारी पत्नी तुम्ही मार डालेगी अगर तुम एक घंटे के अंदर घर नही पहुंचते हो । | Your wife will kill you if you don't get home within an hour. |

| उसने अपनी पत्नी को उस विषय पर चुप रहने का इशारा किया किन्तु वह समझ नही सकी । | He signaled his wife to be quiet on that subject but she could not get it. |
| शरीर हमेशा आनेवाली शारीरिक समस्यांओं के बारे में इशारा करता है परंतु हम ठीक से समझ नही पाते हैं । | Body always indicates about forthcoming physical problems but we don't get it properly. |
| इंग्लिश ग्रैमर लेसन्स के एक या दो बार पढ़ने से साधारणतया हम इन्हें पूरी तरह नही समझ पाते हैं । | In one or two reading of English grammar lessons, normally we do not get it completely. |
| अपनी समस्या को उसे बताने का प्रयास मत करो । वह इसे कभी नही समझेगा । | Don't try to explain your problems to him. He will never get it. |

Meaning - Getting Something Done
When we use 'Get' with 3rd form of verb (past participle), it often depicts the meaning - Getting something done.
जब हम 'Get' 3rd फ़ॉर्म (past participle) के साथ प्रयोग करते हैं, इसका अक्सर अर्थ होता है - कुछ कार्य करवाना ।

| उसने 5 मिनिट के अंदर अपना सामान भरवाया । | She got luggage packed within five minutes. |
| क्या उसका मित्र न्यूयॉर्क में गिरफ्तार किया गया ? | Did his friend get arrested in New York? |
| चैक पर दोनो के हस्ताक्षर करवाओ । | Get the cheque signed by both of them. |
Meaning - Gradually Starts to have a particular attitude or feeling
When we use 'Get to', it means - Someone gradually starts to have a particular attitude or feeling or to do Something.
जब हम 'Get to' का प्रयोग करते हैं, इसका अर्थ है - कोई धीरे धीरे एक खास रवैय्या या भाव कुछ करने के लिये अपनाना शुरू करता है ।
