32nd Day - After Tense and Active Passive, Direct & Indirect is the most important part of English Language. Today also we will continue Direct Indirect. >> Thereafter >> You are to go through Day-To-Day-English Lesson & attempt Quiz of the Day.
We can report any Speech to another person either in the same words (known as Direct Speech or Direct Narration) OR report the speech in our words without changing the meaning (known as Indirect Speech or Indirect Narration).

बत्तीसवाँ दिन - Tense और Active Passive के बाद, Direct & Indirect इंग्लिश भाषा का एक महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है । आज भी हम Direct Indirect जारी रखेंगे ।>> उसके बाद >> आपको रोज इंग्लिश बोलचाल के वाक्य को पढ़ना/समझना है और आज के विषय पर क्विज़ को करना है ।
किसी वक्ता की कही बात को हम दूसरे व्यक्ति को उन्हीं शब्दों में ज्यों का त्यों बता सकते हैं (इसे Direct Speech या Direct Narration से जाना जाता है) या वक्ता की बात को अपने शब्दों में बिना अर्थ बदले बता सकते हैं ( इसे Indirect Speech या Indirect Narration से जाना जाता है) ।

Direct-Indirect Speech - W-Family Interrogative Sentences

In W-Family Interrogative sentences, Comma (,) and Inverted Commas ("...") are removed and no word is used to join both the parts. The word of W-Family does the work to join both the parts.

Besides this rule, all the rules described earlier are applicable to W-Family Interrogative Sentences also.

W-Family पश्नवाचक वाक्यो में Comma (,) और Inverted Commas ("...") को हटा कर दोनों भागो को जोड़ने के लिये कोई भी शब्द नही लगाया जाता है । W-Family का शब्द ही दोनों भागो को जोड़ने का कार्य करता है ।

इस नियम के अलावा, सारे नियम जो पहले वर्णित किए गए है, W-Family प्रश्नात्मक वाक्यो पर भी लागु होते है ।

Examples of W-Family Interrogative Sentences

Direct	मंजुला ने पूनम से कहा, "तुम क्या चाहती हो ?"	Manjula said to Poonam, "What do you want?"
Indirect	मंजुला ने पूनम से पूछा कि क्या उसने चाहा ।	Manjula asked Poonam what she wanted.
Direct	बॉस ने अपनी PA से कहा, "आज तुम उदास क्यों हो ?"	Boss said to his PA, "Why are you sad today?"
Indirect	बॉस ने अपनी PA से पूछा कि क्यों वह उस दिन वह उदास थी ।	Boss asked his PA why she was sad that day.
Direct	साक्षात्कार-कर्ता ने उम्मीदवार से कहा, "तुम्हारी योग्यतायें क्या है ?"	Interviewer said to the candidate, "What are your qualifications?"
Indirect	साक्षात्कार-कर्ता ने उम्मीदवार से पूछा कि क्या उसकी योग्यतायें थी ।	Interviewer asked the candidate what were his qualifications.
Direct	जज ने श्वेता से कहा, "तुमने अपने नौकर को क्यों मारा ?"	The judge said to Shweta, "Why did you beat your servant?"
Indirect	जज ने श्वेता से पूछा की क्यों उसने अपने नौकर को मारा था ।	The judge asked Shweta why she had beaten her servant.
Direct	अध्यापक ने मोनिटर से कहा, "तुम्हारा आदेश कौन नही मान रहा था ?"	The teacher said to the Monitor, "Who was not obeying your orders?"
Indirect	अध्यापक ने मोनिटर से पूछा की कौन उसका आदेश नही मान रहा था ।	The teacher asked the Monitor who had not obeyed his orders.
Direct	अरविन्द ने मुझसे कहा, "तुम अपने आप को नवयुवाओं से क्यों तुलना करते हो ?"	Arvind said to me, "Why do you compare yourself with the youngsters?"
Indirect	अरविन्द ने मुझसे पूछा की क्यों मैने नवयुवाओं से अपने आपकी तुलना की ।	Arvind asked me why I compared myself with the youngsters.
Direct	कनिका ने वर्तिका से कहा, "तुम पुणे कब घुमने जा रही हो ?"	Kanika said to Vartika, "When are you visiting Pune?"
Indirect	कनिका ने वर्तिका से पूछा की कब वह पुणे घुमने जा रही थी ।	Kanika asked Vartika when she was visiting Pune.
Direct	नेता ने जनता से कहा, "तुम्हारी हमसे क्या आशायें है ?"	The leader said to public, "What are your expectations from us?"
Indirect	नेता ने जनता से पूछा की उनकी क्या आशाये उनसे थी ।	The leader asked public what were their expectations from them.
Direct	बस कंड़क्टर ने कहा, "यह थैला (bag) किसका है ?"	The bus conductor said, "Whose bag is this?
Indirect	बस कंड़क्टर ने पूछा की किसका थैला (bag) था वह ।	The bus conductor asked whose bag that was.
Direct	मोना ने चार्ल्स से कहा, "तुम पैसा (मुद्रा) वापस कैसे करोगे ?"	Mona said to Charls, "How will you repay the money?"
Indirect	मोना ने चार्ल्स से पूछा की कैसे वह पैसा (धन) वापस करेगा ।	Mona asked Charls how he would repay the money.
Direct	डॉली ने रीता से कहा, "तुम यहां क्यों नही रुकते हो ?"	Dolly said to Reeta, "Why don't you stop here?"
Indirect	डॉली ने रीता से पूछा की क्यों वह वहां नही रुकी ?	Dolly asked Reeta why she did not stop there.
Direct	स्नेह ने रंजत से कहा, "तुम्हारा नाम क्या है ?"	Sneh said to Rajat, "What is your name?"
Indirect	स्नेह ने रंजत से पूछा कि क्या नाम था उसका ।	Sneh asked Rajat what his name was.

Direct	टीचर ने हर्ष से कहा, "तुम्हारी पुस्तक कौन सी है ?"	Teacher said to Harsh, "Which is your book?"
Indirect	टीचर ने हर्ष से पूछा की कौन सी पुस्तक थी उसकी ।	Teacher asked Harsh which his book was.
Direct	डॉली ने विकास से कहा, "आप कौन है ?"	Dolly said to Vikas, "Who are you?"
Indirect	डॉली ने विकास से पूछा की कौन था वह ।	Dolly asked Vikas who he was.
Direct	मैनेजर ने क्लर्क से कहा, "तुम देर से क्यों आये ?"	Manager said to clerk, "Why did you come late?"
Indirect	मैनेजर ने क्लर्क से पूछा की क्यों देर से वह आया ।	Manager asked clerk why he had come late.
Direct	शान्तुर ने अव्यन से कहा, "तुम क्यों रो रहे हो ?"	Shantur said to Avyan, "Why are you crying?"
Indirect	शान्तुर ने अव्यन से पूछा की क्यों रो रहा था वह ।	Shantur asked Avyan why he was crying.
Direct	मैंने उससे कहा, "तुम मेरे पिताजी से कब मिली ?"	I said to her, "When did you see my father?"
Indirect	मैंने उससे पूछा की कब वह मेरे पिताजी से मिली थी ।	I asked her when she had seen my father.
Direct	पर्यटक ने एक दुकानदार से पूछा, "अक्षरधाम कहां है ?"	Visitor said to a shopkeeper, "Where is the AkShardhaam?"
Indirect	पर्यटक ने एक दुकानदार से पूछा की कहाँ है अक्षरधाम ।	Visitor asked a shopkeeper where the AkShardhaam is.
Direct	उसने उससे कहा, "तुम कहां पैदा हुई थी ?"	He said to her, "Where were you born?"
Indirect	उसने उससे पूछा की कहां पैदा हुई थी वह ।	He asked her where she was born.
Direct	जॉन ने अपने बेटे से कहा, "तुमने अब क्या करने का निर्णय लिया है ?"	John said to his son, "What have you decided to do now?"
Indirect	जॉन ने अपने बेटे से पूछा कि क्या करने का उसने तब निर्णय लिया था ।	John asked his son what he had decided to do then.

** जो अंग्रेजी आप पढ़ते/सुनते हैं उसे बोलने का अभ्यास करें और उच्चारण सुधारने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करें ।
** नए शब्द लिख लें और अपनी शब्द शक्ति बढ़ांए ।
