दसवां दिन - हम भूतकाल के जारी काल के बारे में सीखेंगे > उसके बाद >> DTDE लेसन और क्वीज आफ द ड़े ।
ऐसे वाक्य जिन्में भूतकाल में कार्य लगातार जारी था, भूतकाल जारी काल के अंतर्गत आते हैं ।

Past Continuous Tense

Past Continuous Tense - Interrogative And Interrogative & Negative

Past Continuous Tense - Interrogative And Interrogative & Negative
Type of Sentence Rule
Interrogative Was/Were + Subject + Verb (Ist form) + Ing + Object + (?)
Interrogative & Negative Was/Were + Subject + Not + Verb (Ist form) + Ing + Object + (?)

Interrogative sentence of Past Continuous Tense starts with 'Was/Were' and first form of Verb with 'Ing' is used in it. In Interrogative & Negative sentence, 'Not' is added just before Verb.

पास्ट कन्टीन्युअस टेन्स के प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य 'Was/Were' से शुरु होते हैं । प्रश्नवाचक और नकारात्मक वाक्य में 'Not' को वर्ब से पहले लगाते हैं ।

Past Continuous Tense - Interrogative क्या लड़के इग्लिश सीख रहे थे?
Person Was/Were Subject Verb (Ist Form) + Ing Object
Ist person Was I learning English?
Ist Person -Plural Were we learning English?
2nd Person Were you learning English?
3rd Person -Singular Was he/she/it/Ram learning English?
3rd Person -Plural Were they/boys learning English?

Past Continuous Tense - Interrogative And Interrogative & Negative क्या मैं तुम्हारी बहन को नही पढ़ा रहा था?
Person Was/Were Subject Not + Verb (Ist Form) + Ing Object
Ist person Was I not teaching your sister?
Ist Person -Plural Were we not teaching your sister?
2nd Person Were you not teaching your sister?
3rd Person -Singular Was he/she/it/Ram not teaching your sister?
3rd Person -Plural Were they/boys not teaching your sister?

In Past Continuous Tense, time may come in sentence but starting time of action should not be there. If starting time of the action is given and action remains continue, the Continuous Tense becomes Perfect Continuous Tense e.g. He was studying in Government School. In this sentence, action is continuous but starting time of the action 'studying' is not given, hence it is Past Continuous Tense. If we add starting time of action 'studying for three years' then it will become Past Perfect Continuous tense and it will be translated as 'He had been studying in Government school for the last three years'.
