Passive Voice of Modals
Modals are special Helping Verbs. Modals express the mood of a the verb, such as ability, possibility, necessity or another condition. They are used with a main verb to form a sentence and it remains same
whether Subject is singular or plural. Modals are - May, Might, Can, Could, Will, Would, Shall, Should, Must, Ought to. We will learn in detail about Modals separately. Here we will focus on Passive Voice of
Modals.
Rules of Passive voice of Modals (mentioned below) show that helping verb 'Be' is added after Modals and 3rd form of verb is used for making Passive Voice.
Modals एक तरह के स्पेशल Helping Verbs है । Modals verb के मूड को व्यक्त करते हैं जैसे - सामर्थ्यता, संभावना, आवश्यकता या दूसरा कोई भाव । Modals मुख्य verb के साथ वाक्य बनाने में
प्रयुक्त होते हैं और इसमे सब्जेक्ट के सिंगुलर या प्लुरल होने से कोई परिवर्तन नही होता । Modals है - May, Might, Can, Could, Will, Would, Shall, Should, Must, Ought to ।
इनके बारे में विस्तार से अलग सीखेंगे । यहाँ हम Modals के passive voice पर ध्यान केन्द्रित करते हैं ।.
Modals को Passive Voice बनाने का नीचे दिया हुआ नियम दिखाता है की हेल्पिंग verb 'Be' Modals के बाद लगता है और Verb की 3rd फ़ॉर्म इस्तेमाल होती है ।

| मरीज कार चला सकता है । | The patient can drive car. | Car can be driven by the patient. | कार मरीज के द्वारा चलाई जा सकती है । |
| वह पहाड़ पर नही चढ़ सकती है । | She cannot climb on the hill. | The hill cannot be climbed by her. | पहाड़ पर उसके द्वारा नही चढ़ा जा सकता है । |
| नेता अपने पार्टी के लोगो को समझा नही सका । | The leader could not convince his party men. | His party men could not be convinced by the leader. | उसकी पार्टी के लोग नेता द्वारा नही समझाये जा सके । |
| मैं समझौता नही कर सका । | I could not make compromise. | Compromise could not be made by me. | समझौता मेरे द्वारा नही किया जा सका । |
| तुम्हें उसे आवारा कुत्तो के बारे में सावधान करना चाहिये । | You should warn him about stray dogs. | He should be warned about stray dogs by you. | उसे तुम्हारे द्वारा आवारा कुत्तो के बारे में सावधान किया जाना चाहिये । |
| उसे स्वाती का प्रस्ताव नही ठुकराना चाहिये । | He should not reject Swati's proposal. | Swati's proposal should not be rejected by him. | स्वाती का प्रस्ताव उसके द्वारा नही ठुकराना चाहिये । |
| वह मुझे इजाजत नही देगी । | She would not allow me. | I would not be allowed by her. | मुझे उसके द्वारा इजाजत नही दी जायेगी । |
| अव्यन बच्चो के पक्ष में आवाज उठायेगा । | Avyan would raise voice in favour of kids. | Voice would be raised by Avyan in favour of kids. | आवाज अव्यन द्वारा बच्चो के पक्ष में उठाई जायेगी । |
| उनको उसके पति की अवश्य रक्षा करनी चाहिये । | They must protect her husband. | Her husband must be protected by them. | उसके पति की उनके द्वारा अवश्य रक्षा की जानी चाहिये । |
| स्कूल को जरूर छुटिृयाँ देनी चाहिये । | Schools must give holidays. | Holidays must be given by schools. | छुटि्टयाँ स्कूल द्वारा अवश्य दी जानी चाहिये । |
| क्या तुम्हें उसे बुलाना ही चाहिये? | Must you call her? | Must she be called by you? | क्या वह तुम्हारे द्वारा बुलाई ही जानी चाहिये? |
| तुम्हें अपने माता पिता का कहना मानना चाहिये । | You ought to obey your parents. | Your parents ought to be obeyed by you. | तुम्हारे माता पिता का कहना तुम्हारे द्वारा माना जाना चाहिये । |
| अव्यन को हर साल अपने दादा-दादी से मिलने भारत आना चाहिये । | Avyan ought to visit India every year to meet his grand-parents. | India ought to be visited by Avyan every year to meet his grand-parents. | भारत अव्यन द्वारा हर साल अपने दादा-दादी से मिलने आया जाना चाहिये । |
