17th Day - Today we shall learn about sentences of Compulsion and few important words. >> Thereafter >> You are to go through Day-To-Day-English Lesson & attempt Quiz of the Day.
When there is compulsion or one does not want to do willingly, it is expressed with compulsion sentences.

सत्रहवाँ दिन - आज हम मजबूरी वाले वाक्य और कुछ महत्वपूर्न शब्दों का विभिन्न प्रकार से प्रयोग करने के बारे में सीखेंगे । >> उसके बाद >> आपको रोज इंग्लिश बोलचाल के वाक्य को पढ़ना/समझना है और आज के विषय पर क्विज़ को करना है ।
जब किसी प्रकार की मजबूरी हो या दिल/मन कार्य ना करना चाहे, तो उसे मजबूरी वाले वाक्यो से बयान करते हैं ।

Sentences of Compulsion

Willing Action

When there is no compulsion and subject wants to do the action willingly or rather he wants to do that action from the core of his heart, 'has / have / had' is replaced by 'is / are / am / was / were'.

जब मजबूरी वाले वाक्य ना हो तो प्रेज़न्ट टेन्स में 'Has/Have' के स्थान पर 'Is / Are / Am' और पास्ट टेन्स में 'Had' के स्थान पर 'Was / Were' का प्रयोग करते हैं ।

प्रेज़न्ट टेन्स में बिना मजबूरी वाले वाक्यो का अन्त (ना है / नी है / ने है) में होता है तथा पास्ट टेन्स में बिना मजबूरी वाले वाक्यो का अंत (ना था / नी थी / ने थे) में होता है ।

मेरे भाई को रोज सुबह 5 बजे उठना है ।	My brother is to get up at 5 o'clock in the morning.
मुंबई में मेरे भाई को रोज सुबह 4 बजे उठना था ।	My brother was to get up at 4 o'clock in the morning in Mumbai.
जयपुर में मेरा भाई रोज सुबह 6 बजे उठेगा ।	In Jaipur, my brother will get up at 6 o'clock in the morning.
हमे इस कॉलेज में पढ़ना है	We are to read in this college.
जॉन को स्कूल छोड़ना था ।	John was to leave the school.
रजनी और अंकित को रोज सुबह जल्दी ऑफिस जाना है ।	Rajni and Ankit are to go to office daily early in the morning.
राजू को अपने पिता जी का कहना मानना है ।(दिल से)	Raju is to obey his father.
मुझे इंग्लिश सीखनी पड़ती है या सीखनी ही है ।	I have to learn English.
मुझे इंग्लिश सीखनी है ।(दिल से चाहत है)	I am to learn English
मुझे इंग्लिश सीखनी थी ।(दिल से)	I was to learn English.
मुझे इंग्लिश सीखनी ही थी ।	I had to learn English.
मधुर को आज निकलना ही है ।(एक प्रकार की मजबूरी)	Madhur has to leave today.
मधुर को आज निकलना है ।	Madhur is to leave today.
मधुर को आज निकलना था ।	Madhur was to leave today.
मुझे यह काम दिसंबर'13 से पहले करना है ।	I am to complete this work before December'13.
क्या मुझे कल डॉक्टर से नही मिलना था?	Was I not to meet the doctor yesterday?
हमें बुढ़ापे में कुछ भी नही सहना है ।	We are not to endure anything in old-age.
मुझे उसके बारे में कुछ करना है ।	I am to do something about him.
मुझे उसके बारे में कुछ करना पड़ता है ।	I have to do something about him.
उसको नौकरी छोड़नी है ।	She is to leave the job.
मुझे कल फिर डॉक्टर के पास जाना है (मेरी इच्छा है)	I am to go to doctor again tomorrow.
मुझे कल फिर डॉक्टर के पास जाना है (मजबूरी है)	I have to go to doctor again tomorrow.

Please observe the last two sentences. In Hindi both sentences are same but tone & expression is different. In first sentence, subject wants to go again because of his desire and in second he has compulsion to go again. At the time of speaking sentence of compulsion, a little stress is made on the word 'have'.

आखिरी दो वाक्यों पर गौर करें । दिखने में दोनों वाक्य एक समान है परन्तु भाव दोनों में अलग है । एक वाक्य में दिली इच्छा है और दूसरे में किसी प्रकार की मजबूरी है । बोलते समय मजबूरी वाले वाक्य में 'Have' पर थोड़ ज़ोर दिया जाता है जबकि चाहत वाला वाक्य एक फ्लो में बोला जाता है ।

Few Important Words

We shall learn about different uses of important words -Do, Go, Mean, Point, Run & Set . Its meaning is simple but in English these are commonly used for different meaning. Please note the difference in the given examples of each word.

कुछ महत्वपूर्न शब्द - Do, Go, Mean, Point, Run & Set , के बारे में सीखेंगे । इनका अलग अलग अर्थो में प्रयोग किया जाता है । आप इनके नीचे दिये हुय उदाहरणों में अन्तर को गौर करें और अपने प्रयोग में लांए ।

तुम यहां क्या कर रही हो?	What are you doing here?
क्या तुमने बर्तन धो लिये हैं?	Have you done the dishes?
तुम डिनर के लिये क्या बना रही हो?	What are you doing for dinner?
प्रिती ने यह फूल लगांये है ।	Preeti has done these flowers.
तुम्हारी जिद यहां नही चलेगी ।	Your stubbornness will not do here.
तुम्हारा कैसा चल रहा है ।	How are you doing?
मेरा अच्छा चल रहा है ।	I am doing fine.
मेरे पास लाल पेन नही है । क्या ग्रीन चलेगा?	I don't have a red pen, will green do?
आज तुम्हारी साली का रोका होना है । क्या 1100 रूपये का शगन चलेगा?	Your sister-in-law's Roka (mini engagement / ceremony before engagement) is to take place today. Will shagan of Rs. 1100/- do?

अव्यन स्कूल जा रहा है ।	Avyan is going to school.
यह रास्ता द्वारका जाता है ।	This road goes to Dwarka.
मेरा लंच बॉक्स कहां गाया है?	Where my lunch box has gone?
मुझे लगता है रविंदर पागल हो गया है ।	I think Ravinder has gone made.
तुम्हारा वेब साइट बनाने का कार्य कैसा चल रहा है ।	How is your web site making work going?
आज कल ऑफिस में क्या चल रहा है?	What is going on now-a-days in office?
इन दिनों कुछ भी नही चल रहा है ।	Nothing is going on these days.
कल तक बुखार उतर जायेगा ।	Temperature will go down by tomorrow.

Mean

तुम्हारे कहने का क्या मतलब है?	What do you mean?
मैं आपके कहने का अर्थ समझता हूँ ।	I understand what you mean.
मेरा मतलब तुम्हारा दिल दुखाना नही था ।	I did not mean to hurt your feelings.
मैने ना बोला है । नही मतलब नही । पक्का नही ।	I have said no. No means no. Absolutely no.
हम यह काम कल करेंगे । सर, कल तो रविवार है । रविवार नही मेरा मतलब सोमवार ही था ।	We shall do this work tomorrow. Sir, tomorrow is Sunday. No Sunday, I meant Monday only.
उसका मतलब है की वह तुमसे प्यार करता है ।	He means that he loves you.

Point

उसको समझाने का कोई मतलब/फ़ायदा नही है ।	There is no point in counseling him.
वह हमारी समस्या का मुख्य बिन्दु है ।	He is the main point of our worry.
क्या दुनिया विनाश के कगार पर है?	Is the world on the point of destruction?
इसमे कोई अर्थ नही है की रानी अब राजा का इंतज़ार करें ।	There is no point that now Rani should wait for Raja.
इस बारे में बहस करने का कोई मतलब नही है ।	There is no point in arguing about this.
मुझे बताओ तुम्हारा मुख्य मुद्दा क्या है?	Tell me what is your main point?

Run

वह पैसे के पीछे दौड़ रहा है ।	He is running behind money.
तुम्हारी कार का इंजन चालू है ।	Engine of your car is running.
आजकल रेल गाड़ी बिजली से चलती है ।	Now-a-days, train runs with electricity.
मैं याह मशीन चलाना नही जानता हूँ ।	I do not know how to run this machine.
पानी बह रहा है ।	Water is running.
नल चालू है ।	Tap is running.
पोल्युशन चेक के लिये इंजन चालू रखिये ।	Keep engine running for pollution check.

Set

सीरियल CID ने नया कीर्तिमान स्थापित किया है ।	Serial CID has set up a new record.
सूर्य पश्चिम में अस्त होता है ।	The sun sets in the west.
माता पिता को अच्छा उदाहरण रखना चाहिये ।	Parents should set a good example.
Reliance ग्रुप ने जयपुर में नई दुकान खोली है ।	Reliance group has set up a new shop in Jaipur.
मेरी घड़ी मैने TV के समय से मिलाई है ।	I have set my watch by the TV time.

** नए शब्द लिख लें और अपनी शब्द शक्ति बढ़ांए ।
